I am not sure people are ready to say Syracuse football is back
yet. The most likely reason it was a good game is because a mess is brewing down in Baton Rouge. Coach O isn't a very good HC, but he was hired because all the players love him and wanted him to be the next HC. I look for LSU to "struggle" (by their standards) for the next couple of years before the school decides to finally replace him with someone else.
I do think Syracuse football is improving, but I am not sure it will ever get back to where it was during the Jim Brown Era or McNabb/Harrison/Freeney Era. Also, I am not sure Syracuse's "A Game" is on par with LSU's "A Game" because of the gap in talent depth. LSU owns the state of LA, which some years is very rich in 4/5-star talent, and recruits very well in the other Gulf Coast states. You could say LSU's "A Game" is a team that is able to go 3 deep at just about every position with 4/5-star talent. I am not sure the same statement could be made about Syracuse's "A Game."
